The Rueben sandwich was succulent with oh so satisfying sourdough, soft and juicy on the inside, crisp on the outside. The coffee was A1. And the cakes ... I have no words! We didn't fancy sitting in the sun, so the delightful girl helping us carried the table a long way to a shady spot, with a smile. It was a chance stop spied from the bike path, and we'll be back.

Adorable little cafe with good coffee and an amazing cinnamon scroll. It’s huge and soft with a generous amount of icing that’s not too sweet. And turns out it’s the same owners as Heart Coffee in Richmond so you can also get the scrolls there.

The best scrolls in Melbourne. Not too sweet and doesn’t make you feel sick. After coming from NZ and not being able to find a decent cinnamon scroll, this place hits the spot. Unlike Sebby’s the cream cheese doesn’t overtake the flavour and the dough is soft and fluffy. Made fresh, ours were still a little warm which was lovely. The tiramisu option was good for my friend as she is allergic to cinnamon but loves scrolls. Had no issues with cross contamination. The madeleine was delicious. Limited seating however, so expect to wait for a table or take away. Can get quite busy.

We came here because of the raving reviews for their cinnamon scroll, but the underrated winner for us had to be the Bacon and Egg Brioche Roll. Omg! Wow! The yummiest roll we have EVER eaten! The cinnamon scroll was also delicious. Very busy, but super quick service too! Loved it. There is also a really lovely park across the road to walk your dog and eat your treats in!

Heartbakes: A Sweet Ride to Port Melbourne I biked to Heartbakes on a Saturday morning, curious to see if it could top Sebby’s, my go-to for scrolls. The café is small, warm, and friendly—with a bit of a line around 9:30 AM, a good sign! I tried the Original and Tiramisu scrolls. Instead of cream cheese, they use an original glazed topping, which gives it a lighter finish. The scrolls themselves are soft, chewy, and not overly sweet—perfectly balanced. So, is it better than Sebby’s? Honestly, it depends on what you prefer as a glaze. But for today, Heartbakes wins it for me. Plus, if you’re in the CBD, it’s super accessible. Huge thanks to the team, especially Jessica, for the warm and thoughtful service. It’s clear they take pride in their quality and customer care—and it shows in every bite. Don’t miss this if you’re visiting Melbourne, you can plan it around your itinerary if you’re passing through South Melb Market :)

Delicious gooey scrolls, the hype is worth it! This is THE cinnamon scroll spot in Melbourne. They have cinnamon and tiramasu flavoured scrolls, not sure if they do flavours on other days. Plenty of other baked goods that I look forward to trying next time :) They cook them in fresh batches, not in one giant batch, so every cinnamon scroll is fresh and straight from the oven. It was very busy, there's not really any seating available when it's busy. I recommend to take it to the park nearby or to the beach :) Scrolls are $7.50 each which is a steal!
